Once downloaded, it will communicate with the Digital River authentication server, verifying that the program has been purchased. It will then register the program with a key. Once registered to the computer, it cannot be unlocked.
If the program is moved to another computer, it will ask for a new key to lock it to that computer. Another key is available for purchase by clicking the Buy Now! button.

Operation Instructions
The eHandbook operates in a similar fashion to a website, as it is actually compiled HTML (HyperText Markup Language). There is a toolbar on the top of the eHandbook just like Internet Explorer. This toolbar has buttons for back/forward, stop, refresh, Home, and Search. The forward/back buttons on the toolbar operate just like Explorer forward/back. They are not directly involved in forward/back chapter navigation. If there any problems displaying a page, click on the Refresh button. Search is described below.
The Home page (see below) is the master table of contents and can be accessed by the “Home” button on the toolbar. If you ever become lost, please click on the Home button.

Please select the chapter you wish to read from the Home page. The chapters are laid out with a left navigation pane and a right document pane (see below figure). In the left pane, each chapter has a table of contents. You can click on a link to go directly to that section in the chapter. Also in the left pane toward the top there are buttons to move forward to the next chapter or backward to the previous one. Above that is another Home button. There is a short Overview page that opens in the right document pane when first navigating to most chapters. At the bottom of the Overview page is a “click here” link to start the chapter at the beginning.

An entire chapter loads in the right document pane when clicking on any link in the table of contents or the “click here” link. To navigate up/down the text, use the vertical scroll bar, mouse universal scroll wheel (if available) or the arrow keys. Please note: to use the mouse wheel or arrow keys, the cursor must be somewhere over the document (right) pane. Between each major section, there is a “go to top” link which will take you back to the start of the chapter.
External links contained in the eHandbook will open in a new browser window when clicked. To close the new window, click on the red “X” in the upper right corner.
The search button on the toolbar will open an additional panel on the left to enter criteria in a “Google-like” fashion (see below). Search results will appear in the right pane. To close the search panel, click on the green “X”. Text contained within graphics and tables is not searchable.

Clicking on a search result will open a portion of the eHandbook with the search terms highlighted. Please note that this action will not display the frame with a chapter's table of contents. To restore this frame, click on the Home button and then the chapter desired. Result links can be opened in a new window by right clicking the link and selecting “Open in New Window.” To close the eHandbook, just click on the red “X” in the upper right hand corner.
